The Neighborhood Is Twittering from Life in the Scrapatch

The day 12 block for

The Neighborhood SAL @ Crabapple Hill Studio

was simple and easy and fun.

Now I have five blocks done and all the ones to date are sketched.

Auditioning Finishing Fabrics Plan B

I pulled out some more fabrics from my stash to see what might be best for a quilt made with these blocks and think this is the winner!

These fabrics are

Bluebird on Roses by Elea Lutz

The colors and small prints and florals are perfect

with the embroidery threads that I have used so far.

I found a charm pack, a jelly roll ...

Coloring and Stitching and Thinking from Life in the Scrapatch

I have four blocks done for

The Neighborhood SAL ~ Started Here

This is my block for today.

I am finding this new to me color and stitch project fun.

I think that I want to make a small wall quilt for spring with these blocks.

The fabric in the background I have had in my stash for some time and I pulled it a year or so ago for another project.

Today's block was so cute, I had to start coloring.

I have started setting my sketched block onto a sheet of sandpaper for the coloring part of the process.  I think it helps ...

The Neighborhood SAL ~ Progress from Life in the Scrapatch

Sunday has been a family day,

so I have not had much time to play with the fabrics or threads.

I was able to do the outline sketch for today's

Neighborhood Block 6 @ Crabapple Hill Studio

I have all of the daily SAL blocks outlined,

but only the first one is colored and embroidered.

I have a plan to try to catch up with these blocks by:

1) doing the daily sketch everyday,

2) then coloring a few at a time,

then

3) picking one and doing the embroidery.

Some of the embroidery stitches, like the bullion stitch rose ...

Nutmeg has been her usually helpful self.

When she curled up for her afternoon nap on our fleece covered ottoman,

I sat and worked on the fourth stripe in my
